When an asset or customer is deleted, their backup device/account is automatically removed from the Comet server after this many days. Pending cleanups are listed below and can be cancelled. Deleting the backup account deletes its backed-up data.
How it works
- Cloud backup is the customer's choice. When staff generates an installer (or a customer downloads one from the portal), they're asked whether they want the optional cloud backup. Only machines installed with an opted-in installer get the backup client - existing devices are never modified.
- A Comet backup user is auto-created per customer the first time one of their opted-in machines enrolls.
- Backup job status is polled every 30 minutes; failures raise alerts (and tickets, if enabled above).
- Per-customer device counts below help with billing.
